Bhubaneswar: In a development that could mean that the economy of Odisha is on right track and the effects of Covid-19 pandemic are over, the state has recorded a 28 percent growth in GST collections in April 2022 compared to the same period of 2021. Odisha’s April 2022 GST collections stood at Rs 4910 Crore compared to Rs 3849 crore in April 2021.
Arunachal Pradesh Uttrakhand and Nagaland are the only three states in the country with 90 percent, 33 percent and 32 percent respectively rank above Odisha.
The gross GST collections of India at Rs 1,67,540 Crore in April 2022 is also an all-time high record which is Rs 25,000 Crore more than Rs 1,42,095 crore Collected last month. For the first time, India’s GST collection has crossed the Rs 1.5 lakh Crore mark.
