Nuapada: Security forces have busted a Maoist camp during a joint operation in dense forest area at Odisha -Chhattisgarh Border of Patdhara RF under the limits of Boden Police Station in Nuapada district.
During the anti-Maoist operation launched by combined security forces of SOG, DVF and CRPF, several Maoist articles were seized from the camp, said a police statement.
Intelligence was received from reliable sources by Nuapada Police about a huge camping of Maoists in large numbers in dense forest area nearby Odisha -Chhattisgarh Border of Patdhara RF under the limits of Boden PS.
As per the information, the Maoists had gathered to plan various anti-security forces strategies and to carry out other subversive activities.
Accordingly on July 6, an anti-Maoist operation was launched by combined security forces of SOG, DVF and CRPF. At around 10.10 AM on July 8, while the commandos of SOG were conducting search operation in the forest area of Patdhara RF, 60 to 80 hidden armed Maoists opened indiscriminate fire towards the security forces with the intention of killing them. The team retaliated gallantly and counter fired in self-defense, due to which the Maoists fled the area.
The security forces have recovered several Maoist items, including one air gun, five 12V batteries, one Baofeng Walkie talkie set, four Radios, one power bank, one bluetooth speaker, four solar plates, 11 knives, three scissors, two staplers, two wrist watches, two screw drivers, two wire bundles, two battery chargers, 12 umbrellas, nine water jarkins, four pair of shoes and a chappal, one sewing machine, four dekchis, 12 haversacks, two bags, two pair of Mao uniforms, personal use cloths, seven jugs, four plates, three suspences, condom packets, medicines, pregnancy test kits, Mao literature, daily ration, 58 tarpolines, rope, three buckets and water drum.
