Odisha Skill Conclave-2023 to Start from April 20 at Kalinga Stadium; To Showcase State’s Skilling Ecosystem
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Skill Conclave-2023 will be held from April 20 to April 22 at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar to highlight the State’s skilling ecosystem.
Skill Development & Technical Education (SDTE) Minister Pritiranjan Gharai and Principal Secretary of Skill Development and Technical Education Department Usha Padhee have addressed a press conference regarding the Odisha Skill Conclave-2023.
The Conclave, the first of its kind event in the State, will witness various upcoming MoUs, conferences, exhibitions and cultural activities. It will bring together top leaders from industry, academia, and international organisations, along with skill ambassadors and partner country representatives to Odisha.
The Government of Odisha, under the visionary guidance of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, has taken various transformational initiatives for setting up a progressive ecosystem to facilitate industry sector growth through policy reforms, infrastructure development and skilling etc.
Under the dynamic leadership of the Chief Minister, ‘Skilled-in-Odisha’ has been recognised as a global brand in the TVET eco-system. This aspirational vision of the State and relentless efforts of all stakeholders have enabled a ‘Skilled-in-Odisha’ trainee to win the first-ever Gold Medal from India at the World Skills Competition, 2019, said Minister Preetiranjan Gharai.
In order to further promote the ‘Skilled-in-Odisha’ brand and to make youths of the State skilled and employable not only in the country but also abroad, the government is organising Odisha Skill Conclave 2023 with the theme ‘Skilling for the New World’, he said.
The inaugural day on 20th April shall see a plenary session discussion on relevant topics, for example, building a coherent skill ecosystem in India and commendation of skilled manpower etc.
Discussions will be there on 21st April on important topics like making India the skill capital of the World and empowering women through skills. A special session and exhibit on drone technology as well as discussion on role of Sector Skill Councils will be conducted on April 22.
The event will see participation from renowned international and national dignitaries, intellectuals and industry representatives active in skilling in the plenary discussions, said SDTE Principal Secretary Usha Padhi.
The event will also witness a congregation of more than 2,000 students, over 1,000 delegates from industry, academia and government sectors, she added.
The event will be host for 100 plus exhibits from it is, polytechnics, engineering colleges and universities as well as from prominent industries and other Departments of government. The Conclave will also see the signing of some significant MoUs with industry partners regarding skilling in the State.
To create awareness on the event new and unique ‘Pathapranta Utsava’ has been planned on Janpath in Bhubaneswar.
Cultural events have also been planned for the 20th and 21st evenings to display the rich heritage of Odisha and its advancement in skilling as well as to entertain all visitors.
A curtain-raiser for the Conclave was organized on 6th April in New Delhi for creating promotions. Another curtain-raiser is being planned on 11th April in Bhubaneswar for creating a buzz in the State.
Earlier, Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena has urged all the departments to support the Skilled-in-Odisha mission by helping in organising a grand Odisha Skill conclave event.
