New Delhi: Odisha State Day was celebrated at the ongoing 41st India International Trade Fair, 2022 at Amphitheatre-1, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi on Thursday.
Cultural extravaganza marked the celebrations with the enthralling performance of various cultural troupes that participated in the event.
The programme was inaugurated by Pritiranjan Gharai at 2.30PM by lighting the lamp who had graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Member of Parliament, Bhadrak Loksabha Constituency Manjulata Mandal, Dr. Lenin Mohanty, Chairman, OTDC, Kasturi Mohapatra, Editor, Utkala Prasanga and Odisha Review, Resident Commissioner,Odisha, New Delhi Sri Ravikant, Special Resident Commissioner Debjani Chakrabarti, GM, ITPO R.S.Sahoo, Director, Information and Public Relations Deptt., Govt. of Odisha Indramani Tripathy attended the celebration as Guests.
Much before the inauguration of programme, audience thronged to amphitheatre-1 to have a glimpse of Odisha’s rich cultural grandeur and eclectic performance of the renowned cultural troupes from the state. The colourful afternoon witnessed electrifying performance of the artists who presented famous Odissi, Dalkhai, Bajasal and Modern Fusion Dance on this big stage. In Odissi, Rudrakshya Foundation, Bhubaneswar had performed Mahakalee Stutee while Mahabir Sanskrutika Anusthana of Bhawanipatna, Kalahandi had presented folk dance Bajasal. Likewise Lahari Group from Sambalpur moved the audience with the fine lyrics and music of Dalkhai and vocalist Ms. Susmita Das and her troupe “Moksha” entertained the audience with their Modern Fusion Dance. The audience were mesmerised by the magical rhythm, beats and synchronisation of the songs and dances.
Speaking on the occasion Gharai said that Odisha’s glorious culture, dance and music were very well presented in this platform. It is heartening to see people from all parts of the country entirely enjoyed this. The programme was well appreciated by them and we all feel honoured by that. Similarly Lenin Mohanty, Chairman, OTDC commented that it was a one of its kind outstanding performance that left a delightful impression on the audience’s minds.
In the beginning the latest issue of Utkala Prasanga and Odisha Review were released by the Guests. The stage was managed by well-known anchor Sanhati Pani. Director,Odisha Pavilion Subash Nial looked after the complete planning, preparation and execution of the event. Additional Director, Information & Public Relations Department, Odisha, Santosh Das with other department officials rendered their valuable support for successful organisation of the Cultural Programme.
The Minister and other guests also visited Odisha Pavilion and stalls at the India International Trade Fair.
