Bhubaneswar: As many as 12 new steel plants will be set up Odisha, said Steel & Mines Minister Prafulla Mallik in the Assembly on Monday.
Responding to a written question, the Minister said that 12 new steel plants will be set up in the State, of which three will be set up in Sundargarh district and two in Jajpur district.
The Minister further said that one each steel plant will come up in Angul, Kendrapara, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Jagatsinghpur districts.
Currently, Odisha has 51 steel plants with annual production capacity of 33.12 MT, he added.
