Bhubaneswar: Several parts in Odisha will witness heavy rainfall till July 25, predicts the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The depression over the Odisha coast near Chilika Lake remained practically stationary during the past 3 hours and lay centred at 8.30 AM on Saturday over the same region near latitude 19.6°N and longitude 85.4°E, about 40 km south-southwest of Puri (Odisha) and 70 km East-Northeast of Gopalpur (Odisha). It is likely to move further northwestwards across Odisha & Chhattisgarh and weaken gradually into a well marked low-pressure area during the next 12 hours, the IMD said.
Under the impact of the prevailing weather system heavy rainfall is very likely to lash most parts of Odisha till the 25th of July.

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Kalahandi,Rayagada, Ganjam, and Gajapati.
Yellow Warning (Be updated)
Heavy Rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kandhamal, Cuttack, Bargarh, Boudh, Sonepur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Nuapada, Bolangir, Nayagarh, Cuttack and Khordha.

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of north Odisha and at many places over the districts of south Odisha.
