Odisha: Tripartite MoA Signed for Standardized Packaging Practices of Millet Shakti Products

Bhubaneswar: A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed between the Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment, Department of Mission Shakti and Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) for standardized packaging practices of Millet Shakti products.

The duration of this partnership is for a period of three years from April 2023 to March 31, 2026.

The MOA was signed by Director of Agriculture and Food Production Prem Chandra Chaudhary, Joint Secretary, Mission Shakti Department Binod Kumar Jena and Joint Director IIP Dr. Babu Rao Guduri.

Principal Secretary of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment Department Dr. Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, IIP Assistant Director Shekhar Amberkar and other senior officials of the department were present on the occasion.

The main objective of this partnership is to develop appropriate packaging of agricultural products, processed food products and non-agricultural products by women self-help groups producer groups and manufacturing companies promoted by Mission Shakti.

Skill development and training programme on packing technology will be organized for the Mission Shakti SHGs, as per an official release.
