Dhenkanal: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths today apprehended the Block Education Officer of Hindol Santanu Kumar Mallik while taking bribe. He was caught red handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.10,000 from a school teacher for release of his arrear salary. In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance PS Case No 06/23 U/s- 7PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress.
The Vigilance personnel are also carrying out simultaneous searches at three places including his residence, his office and rented house at Khajuripada.
