Odisha Vigilance Apprehends Khariar Forest Division Senior Assistant While Accepting Bribe

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance Department sleuths have apprehended Sanjaya Kumar Bag, Senior Assistant, O/o DFO, Territorial, Khariar Forest Division, Nuapada while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs. 20,000 from a Complainant for processing pension paper documents and facilitating release of retirement benefits in favour of his sister following her voluntary retirement in the year 2022. The entire bribe money has been recovered and seized from the exclusive possession of the accused official.

Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations related to Sanjay Kumar Bag from DA angle. In this connection, Koraput Vigilance P.S case No.16 dtd. 30.05.2023 U/s 7 P.C Amendment Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against the accused.
