Odisha Vigilance Arrests Revenue Official for Taking Bribe

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Wednesday arrested a revenue official for allegedly taking bribe in a conversion case.

Lily Choudhury, In-charge R.I.(Revenue Inspector), Tasaladihi, Tangarpali Tahasil in Sundargarh district has been apprehended by Vigilance sleuths while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.5,000 from a complainant to submit enquiry report for conversion of agricultural land to homestead land in a conversion case in his favour.

The entire bribe money Rs.5,000 has been recovered from Choudhury and seized, the Vigilance said.

Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Choudhury in Sundargarh district from DA angle.

In this connection, Rourkela Vigilance PS Case U/s 7 P.C. (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered.

Investigation is in progress against accused Choudhury, the Vigilance informed.
