Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Friday arrested an IIC and ASI in Koraput district for taking bribe from a person.
Chandrabhanu Mohanty, IIC, Dasmantpur PS in Koraput district and Dipti Hira, ASI of the same PS have been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and accepting bribe Rs. 8,000 from a complainant to help him in a case registered in Dasmantpur PS, of which the ASI was the IO.
The overall demand was Rs.13,000, of which they had taken Rs.5000 few days back and were nabbed by the team of Odisha Vigilance while taking the balance bribe amount Rs.8000 today.
The bribe money has been recovered from the ASI.
In this connection, Koraput Vigilance PS Case No.24/2023 U/s-7PC Amendment Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against both the accused persons, the Vigilance informed.
