Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Friday raided at two illegal sawmills operating in Cuttack and Puri districts.
The Vigilance sleuths seized accessories and valuable timber worth more than Rs 21 lakh.
In a joint forest raid conducted by the Forest Wing of the Vigilance on an illegal sawmill at Kakagadia village under Niali PS in Cuttack, sawmill accessories along with 25 cft of valuable timber worth over Rs.8 Lakhs were seized.
In another operation, the Vigilance sleuths raided an illegal sawmill running at Olansa village under Charichhaka PS in Puri district and seized timber worth over Rs 13 lakhs.
Further investigation in the matter is underway, the Vigilance stated.
