Odisha Vigilance Recovers Cash Over Rs 11 Lakh from Hindol BEO

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance sleuths have recovered cash worth more than Rs 11 lakh from the possession of Santanu Kumar Mallik, BEO (Block Education Officer), Hindol in Dhenkanal district.
During the raids, the Vigilance officials have unearthed total cash of Rs 11,92,370 including Rs 11,10,370 at Mallik’s Bhadrak residence and Rs 82,000 from his Hindol residence.

The Vigilance also traced one double storeyed building at Kuansh, Bhadrak town, 3 plots in an around Bhadrak town, bank and insurance deposits worth over Rs.10 lakh, one 4 wheeler (Hyundai i20 Asta) and one 2 wheeler.

Searches are still continuing, the Vigilance said.

Earlier this morning, the BEO was arrested while demanding and accepting Rs 10,000 bribe from a teacher for release of his arrear salary pending on official ground.
