Odisha Vigilance Seizes More Than Rs 32 Lakh Cash From Baipariguda IIC

Bhubaneswar: In one of the biggest cash seizures in recent times, the Odisha Vigilance officials have seized more than Rs 32 lakhs in cash from the possession of Bairapiguda IIC Susant Satapathy. The Vigilance officials today conducted searches at the Cuttack residence of Baipariguda IIC Susanta Kumar Satpathy and seized cash totaling to Rs 25 lakhs and other valuables. According to sources, the Vigilance officials have seized the huge ill-gotten cash from the Cuttack Baxibazar resident of Susanta Satapathy. Earlier, yesterday evening, the Vigilance had seized Rs7.5 lakhs from his possession and from his quarter at Baipariguda.

The Odisha Vigilance had intercepted Susant yesterday evening near Jeypore and recovered Rs 7. 5 Lakhs from his possession. He was en-route to Cuttack from Baipariguda in an OSRTC bus. In the subsequent searches, the Vigilance teams recovered more than Rs 25 lakhs from his Cuttack residence today. According to the Vigilance, the IIC could not give any satisfactory reply about the sources of the money. He has been detained for questioning and further investigation by the Odisha Vigilance.
