Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance has unearthed Rs 1.36 crore cash from the houses of Ashis Kumar Dash, Superintendent Engineer, Rural Works, Malkangiri.
It is the highest ever cash seizure in the history of Odisha Vigilance, the anti-corruption agency said while adding that the searches are still underway.
On the fourth day of the searches, the vigilance unearthed Rs 1.15 crore cash the Engineer’s house at Belgachia, Trishulia, Cuttack on Monday. The vigilance sleuths also seized 632 grams of gold biscuits/ coins.
Earlier Rs 21,75,470 cash and 602 grams of gold had been seized following searches at the official’s Malkangiri residence.
With this, the total cash seizure has jumped to Rs 1. 36 crore. A total of 1.2 kg of gold has also been unearthed so far.
