Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Digital Initiatives in the field of agriculture has got a major national recognition.
Odisha has bagged the DigiTech Award for its unique project of satellite mapping crop areas for paddy procurement.
The State won the prestigious award in the Sliver category at the DigiTech Conclave & Awards’ 23 organized by the ET Government.
The award has been conferred to Odisha for its innovative project called Village-Wise Plot-level analysis of Paddy Crop Growing Areas in different Crop Seasons. The project is being implemented by the Odisha Space Applications Centre (ORSAC) and Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department, Government of Odisha.
Expressing his happiness for the recognition, ORSAC Chief Executive Manoj Kumar Mishra said, “This one is a special one. For we believed in this unique project of satellite mapping crop areas for Paddy Procurement and the results have made governance effective and transparent. 5T at work!”.
He also thanked the ET Government for the national recognition.
