Tokyo: The Indian men’s hockey team began its journey in the Tokyo Olympics 2020 with a 3-2 win over New Zealand in an intense match that saw perfect defense and attack by the players at the Oi Hockey Stadium Tokyo.
The Pool A match between India and New Zealand saw Harmanpreet Singh scoring two goals at the 26th and 33rd minutes and and Rupinder Pal Singh scoring the goal at the 10th minute. New Zealand, Kane Russell and Stephen Jenness scored the goals at the 6th and 43rd minutes respectively.
The Indian team will play its next match on July 25th against the mighty Australians.
