Bhubaneswar: Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation, popularly known as Omfed is going to hike its milk prices by Rs 2 per litre from the 21st of this month. From Thursday, the half litre packet of Omfed Gold and Premium milk pouches will cost Rs 24. Likewise, the half litre tonned milk packet will cost Rs 21. According to a release from the OMFED, the hike is nesseciated due to increased production cost and the demand from milk farmers to hike milk rates.
Omfed has also introduced a new variety of milk especially for making tea named Chai Special. Costing Rs 23 per half litre packet, this new variety will be available in the cities of Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Puri initially. The last hike in the prices of milk was effected in the year 2020.
