On His Second Day Kalahandi Visit, 5T Secy Stresses on Timely Completion of Development Projects

Bhubaneswar: On the direction of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian reviewed various development projects on his second day visit to Kalahandi district.

The 5T Secretary has urged the officials to take steps for the timely completion of the projects.

On his second day tour in Kalahandi, Pandian first visited the Pipal Nala Minor Irrigation Project area and discussed with local people and departmental engineers for its improvement.

He decided to increase the irrigation capacity of the Pipal Nala project and take up a tourism development program here. He suggested that the detailed project report should be prepared and submitted within a month.

For the development of irrigation in Kalahandi, Pandian urged the engineers of Water Resources Department to do more mega lift irrigation projects on both sides of Haati river. For this, he ordered to conduct a special survey and give an immediate report.

After holding discussions with the common people and students Thuamul Rampur, the 5T Secretary announced that a Plus 3 degree college would be established there. He expressed his hope that this would improve the education of local students.

He interacted with the local students and members of the Mission Shakti SHGs at Bhatangpadar High School ground to understand their problems and advised the local authorities to address the same.

He visited the famous Maa Manikeshwari temple at Thuamul Rampur and offered his prayers to the deity. He held discussions with the local people and temple committee members and stressed the importance of its redevelopment. He also directed to submit a report within a week after estimating the cost.

At Kalampur Mini Stadium, he discussed with the local people and advised the department officials for further improvement of the stadium.

Pandian visited the Indravati Park and Museum at Mangalpur Barrage. He also saw the construction work of Maa Indravati’s temple there. He informed that an additional Rs 14 crore will be provided for this temple and museum. Later, he visited the lining work of Indravati South Canal. He advised the departmental engineers to complete the work on time.

Pandian visited the famous Budharaja Temple at Ampani and directed the officials to prepare a DPR within 15 days for the improvement and beautification of the shrine.

At Dokrichanchra and Gudahandi, he discussed with the local people and members of the forest committee and advised the DFO to take steps for the benefit of the local people. He advised to prepare DPR within a month.

The 5T Secretary also visited Maa Bhandargharani temple in Dharmagarh and offered his prayers to the deity. He called for proposals for its further improvement.

He visited the Jasoda Ananta Ashrama in Gambhariguda and discussed with the inmates there and advised the officials to take steps for the improvement of the Ashram.

The 5T Secretary informed that a dining hall, computer room, library and park will be developed in the ashram. He also had lunch with the inmates of the ashram.

Then he visited Dharmagarh Biju Patnaik Indoor Stadium, Panchayat College, Kalyan Mandap and interacted with local people, Mission Shakti members and students to take feedback from them for further development of these places.
