Rourkela: Over 79,000 free Ultrasound tests have been done for pregnant women in Sundargarh district under the under the ‘Matrujyoti’, a flagship programme for better prenatal care.
The Ultrasounds were conducted between November 2020 to October 2022.
Besides, 3832 High Risk Cases have been successfully
managed under the programme duration the same period, the Sundargarh district administration informed.
The ‘Matrujyoti’ programme was launched on October 11, 2020
on the occasion of International Girl Child Day for well-being of the mother and children.
The transformative initiative provides four ultrasound tests to every pregnant woman and other ancillary testing services free of cost during pregnancy.
The Matrujyoti programme plays an important role in protecting the health of pregnant mothers and children in the district.
In Sundargarh district, the number of maternal deaths has dropped significantly as a result of the ‘Matrujyoti’ program.
