Padampur By-poll: BJD Seeks Ban on BJP Leader Jaynarayan Mishra from Campaigning for Derogatory Remarks against Women

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s ruling Biju Janata Dal today sought ban on BJP MLA Jaynarayan Mishra from campaigning in the ensuing Padampur by-poll in Bargarh district.

A delegation of BJD moved the office of Chief Electoral Officer demanding ban on Mishra from campaigning for his derogatory and misogynist remarks against women in an election rally on Saturday.

The BJD delegation informed the CEO that the BJP MLA is well- known for making derogatory remarks. Apart from this, he is also known for his criminal background. He was arrested, jailed and now on bail in a murder case during Bijepur by-poll apart from his many criminal acts of public show of arms among many others, the BJD alleged.

Mishra’s campaigning in Padampur by-poll will harbinger more such derogatory, misogynist and insulting remarks against women, the BJD stated.
