Philosophy of Mahima Dharma an Inspiration for Chief Minister for Good Governance 

Bhubaneswar: On the instructions of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian on Monday visited the famous Mahima Gadi at Joranda in Dhenkanal district.

The 5T Secretary informed that many decisions have been taken on the advice of the Chief Minister for the development, beautification and transformation of this great Pitha of Mahima Dharma, Joranda area and Mahima Gadi.

Describing his thoughts on Mahima cult, he said that Mahima cult is a model for the whole world. All are equal irrespective of caste, creed and colour. The welfare of the world is the ideal of this cult along with these same thoughts. It inspires us all, he added.

Expressing that the Chief Minister is deeply inspired by the ideals of Mahima Dharma, Pandian said that the welfare and development of all is the only vow of the Chief Minister’s life. The Chief Minister has kept a famous palm fan of Mahima Dharma in his house. This fan always inspires him to lead a simple life, with high thinking and selfless service.

Mahima cult was born in Odisha. Therefore, Pandian said that the government will provide all kinds of support for its propagation. In addition, he informed that the Chief Minister has ordered that steps will be taken for the development of Mahima Pithas in different parts of the state.

Pandian gave information on the occasion regarding the state government’s initiatives such as medical college and disabled camp in Bolangir in the name of great saint Bhima Bhoi, the founder of Mahima Dharma.

A large bridge has been constructed over Brahmani river from Kaluria village to Saradeipur to develop communication in Dhenkanal. Rs 235.56 crore rupees have been spent for this.

With this, the people of 62 villages will be greatly benefitted in the field of communication, as well as devotees and tourists will be able to visit the Joranda Peeth. Pandian informed that the Chief Minister named it ‘Mahima Setu’.

Pandian visited the seat of Mahima Dharma in Joranda and spent some time there and discussed the development of the seat with Saints and followers.

He suggested that the devotees discuss among themselves and prepare a plan for spreading the vision of Mahima cult, in the state and outside the state.

Pandian informed that the Chief Minister has expressed his commitment to provide cooperation in the construction of temples and prayer houses as per the advice and suggestions of the sages.

Pandian also visited a 5T transformed high school in Joranda and discussed with the students and teachers about the success of the transformation.

Secretary of ST & SC Development, Minorities & Backward Classes Welfare Department Roopa Roshan Sahoo, District Collector Saroj Sethi and other officials were present during the 5T Secretary’s visit.
