PM’s Shahdol visit cancelled due to bad weather, no change in Bhopal schedule: MP CM

Bhopal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s programmes in Madhya Pradesh’s Shahdol district have been cancelled due to inclement weather conditions, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said on Monday.

PM Modi was scheduled to attend the concluding programme of the ‘Veerangana Rani Durgavati Gaurav Yatra’ launched by the state BJP unit on June 22.

During his visit to Shahdol, he was also scheduled to launch the National Sickle Cell Anemia Eradication Campaign at a grand tribal conference.

“The weather department has alerted heavy rainfall on June 27, for which PM Modi’s programmes in Shahdol have been cancelled. A new date will be decided for the same programmes. More than one lakh people were supposed to reach Shahdol to listen to PM Modi’s address, but the PM doesn’t want people to get into any trouble due to heavy rains. So, the Shahdol visit of the Prime Minister has been cancelled,” Chouhan said.

However, the Chief Minister confirmed that Modi will visit to Bhopal on Tuesday.

“Only the Shahdol programmes have been cancelled. The schedule of Bhopal visit remains unchanged,” Chouhan added.
