Police is Investigating Mamita Murder Case with Utmost Sincerity, Says DIG

Sambalpur: Police has been conducting a thorough professional investigation into the Mamata Meher murder case using all modes of scientific, technical, forensic tools, said Northern Range DIG Deepak Kumar.

Addressing a press conference, the DIG said that the police is doing investigation with utmost sincerity.
“We are doing investigation with utmost sincerity and best of our professional capabilities”, he said.

Police has recorded witness statements under 164 CPPC and more than 100 other witness statements under 161 CrPC, he said.

The police has some scientific reports at this stage of investigation, which along with witnesses, fully support prosecution.

“We are very confident of the evidence, which we have collected against the accused and investigation done so far”, the senior police official said.

He further said that there is no delay on part of Police in sending FIR, as alleged.

The case was registered on October 13 and, it was uploaded on CCTNS (Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems) within 24 hours. However, due to holiday on October 13, 14 and 15, the case diary was filed in the court on October 16. Besides, every minute detail of the crime scene recreation is there in CD, he added.
