Baripada: A team of Odisha Police visited the office of Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs & Jal Shakti Bishweswar Tudu at Takatpur here for investigation in connection with the Mayurbhanj MP’s alleged assault on two government officials.
The eight-member team comprising forensic experts visited the Tudu’s office for investigation, according to reports.
The investigation has been expedited by the police and the scientific team is collecting physical evidence including fingerprints from the spot, reports added.
Earlier, the police had collected CCTV footage of the two officials’ entry and exit from Tudu’s office. The statements of the government officials were also recorded under section 164 CrPC.
On January 21, the Union Minister had allegedly assaulted two officials during a review meeting at Baripada. They were admitted to the Baripada Hospital with injuries.
