Polling Officials Can Cast Their Votes at Places of Duty in Odisha: CEO  

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Nikunja Bihari Dhal on Thursday said that the separate arrangement has been made in the forthcoming general elections for the polling officials to cast their votes at their respective places of duty.

The officials on election duty including presiding officer, polling officer, police personnel and polling vehicle staff can cast votes at their respective booths where they will be deployed.

This is for the first time that separate arrangement has been made for the officials on poll duty, the CEO said.

The step will address the issue pertaining to exercising the voting rights of polling officials, he added. .

Apart from this, home voting arrangements will also be made for citizens above 80 years and person with 40% of disability above, he further said.
