Bhubaneswar: Senior Biju Janata Dal leader and Revenue Minister Pramila Mallik is all set to become the first woman Speaker of the Odisha Assembly. She will file her nomination for the post of Speaker today at the Assembly. The Biju Janata Dal President and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had yesterday announced her name for the post of Speaker of the Odisha Assembly. Pramila Mallik is a six time MLA from Binjharpur Assembly Constituency. As the Biju Janata Dal has all the numbers in the Assembly, she is all set to become the Speaker. She will take oath tomorrow at 9 AM in the State Assembly. The monsoon Session of the Assembly begins from tomorrow. The post of speaker was lying vacant after the resignation of Bikram Keshari Arukha, who was made a minister recently.
