Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu will be on a three day visit to Odisha from tomorrow. She will visit her native Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district on Friday. This will be her first visit to her native after assuming the office.
According to sources, President Murmu will arrive at the Kalaikunda Airport in West Bengal by a special plane of the Indian Air Force and from there she will land in a special IAF MI-17 helicopter at Badampahad Helipad. She is scheduled to visit her in-law’s at Pahadpur village where she will lay a wreath at the statue of her husband Shyam Charan Murmu and lay the foundation stone of a community centre.
The President is scheduled to visit the Brahmakumari Center at Satuputiya in Hatbadada to inaugurate the Drug-Free Odisha campaign. She will be visiting the Rairangpur Municipal Office and pay a wreath at the statue of Madhusudan Das. President Murmu will also hoist a 100-foot national flag at Badabandha. She is also scheduled to attend a program organized by the Rairangpur Municipality at the stadium.
At Dandbosh, President Murmu will lay a wreath at the statue of Pandit Raghunath Murmu on his birth anniversary. From there, she will leave by helicopter and land at Jashipur helipad and go to Similipal National Park. According to sources, on Saturday she will reach Maharaja Sri Ramachandra Bhanjdeo University for the convocation program at Baripada.
The district administration has made elaborate preparations for the visit of the President. Keeping in view her visit to the Similipal National Park and the Tiger Reserve, all tourist and vehicular movement will be curbed through the entrance from Pithabata range under Baripada territorial division and at Kaliani gate under Jashipur. The President will also visit Barehipani and other spots inside Similipal and have her lunch at Chahala Guest House.
