Bhubaneswar: The Puri Collector will probe into the ASO assault incident and submit a report within 15 days.
Amid the uproar in the Odisha Assembly over the issue, Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan said that the Puri Collector has been directed to investigate into the incident.
The action will be taken based on the report of the Puri Collector, he said.
Earlier, the opposition parties have strongly criticized the state government and boycotted the address of Governor Raghubar Das in the Assembly over the assault of ASO.
Leader of Opposition (LoP) Naveen Patnaik raised the issue of breakdown of law and order in the state in the Assembly.
The LoP said that he and his party were disappointed that the present government has taken no action against the son of the Governor who had assaulted a government official.
He said “We are deeply shocked by this and stated that the law and order had broken down in the state”.
He demanded the state government must act according to the law.
The Opposition Congress members also protested on the same issue.
