Puri: Servitors, Staff Members Restricted Carrying Mobile Phones inside Srimandir from January 1

Puri: The Shree Jagannatha Temple Administration (SJTA) on Thursday said that the servitors and staff members will not be allowed to carry mobile phones inside the Srimandir from January 1 next year.

Special arrangements have been made to keep mobile phones at Sinha Dwar and Western Gate.

A proposal in this regard has been approved at the managing committee meeting of the temple.

Strict action will be taken against anyone who takes the mobile phone inside the temple, informed SJTA Chief Administrator Vir Vikram Yadav.

Earlier, the Puri police had imposed a ban on the use of smartphones by their personnel inside the temple.
