Puri: In view of the approaching cyclone Yaas towards Odisha, an important meeting was held by the Shree Jagannatha Temple Administration (SJTA) to review the preparedness to deal with the situation arising out of the disaster.
SJTA Chief Administrator Dr Krishan Kumar and Puri Collector Samarth Verma and other senior officials of district administration and SJTA attended the meeting.
The SJTA said that necessary arrangements will be made at COVID Care Centre (Nilachal Bhakt Niwas) and power back-up arrangements will be ensured with sufficient stock of fuel.
Surplus reserve of essentials will be maintained for 3-4 days and sufficient back-up for Oxygen cylinders to be ensured for patients.
The SJTA has also made necessary arrangements at Ratha Khala .
The work at Ratha Khala will be suspended post Guja Anukula ritual tomorrow, the SJTA said while adding that a dedicated team will be deployed at the Ratha Khala area.
ASI will be requested to minimise the scaffoldings around the temple so as to prevent any damage, it said.
Items, such as the LED screens, fans in open areas etc will be removed and secured. High-mast lights to will be lowered to prevent any possible damage, the temple administration stated.
A dedicated team to be formed including officials from CESU/Municipality/SJTA to undertake post cyclone restoration works as per requirement .
All scheduled Niti-Kanti of Lord Jagannath will continue inside Srimandir, it added.
