Bhubaneswar: The Block Education Officer (BEO) of Gunupur in Rayagada district has been caught by the vigilance sleuths for allegedly taking bribe from a retired teacher.
The BEO has been identified as Antaryami Behera.
Behera was been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while he was demanding and accepting bribe Rs.10,000 from a retired teacher to release pending arrear dues and submit Service Book for finalization of pension.
A case has been registered against the BEO and the investigation is in progress, the vigilance said.
