Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister and Biju Janata Dal President Naveen Patnaik on Thursday called on the party workers and leaders to reach out to the people with the messages of welfare programmes of the government.
In a message from Bengaluru to the BJD workers at the preparatory meeting for the BJD’s ‘Jan Sampark Padyatra’, Naveen said that the BJD has always been with the people and working for their development and progress. So, we need to focus on how to make aware the people about the various development and welfare programmes of the government, he said.
Naveen urged the party workers to make the one-month long Jan Sampark Padyatra beginning from October 2 on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti a grand success.
The BJD Supremo also advised them to remind the people about the contribution made by Odisha freedom fighters in the country’s independence movement.
Leaders from the Party’s youth, student and women wings, all Ministers, MPs MLAs, and state workers from across the State attended in the first day of the preparatory meeting held at the Baramunda ground in Bhubaneswar.
Chairing the meeting, BJD Organizational Secretary Pranab Prakash Das said that the Biju Janata Dal has turned into a mass movement to protect the interests of Odisha. Even after all these years, the party has not deviated from its commitment, he said while urging to carry forward this commitment.
