Salary of Eight Teachers in Odisha Stopped over Dereliction of Duty

Bhubaneswar: Salary of eight teachers of a government school in Odisha has been stopped on charges of dereliction of duty.

As per reports, School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash has directed to stop the salary of eight teachers of Jagannathpur UP School in Pipili block in Puri district for allegedly dereliction of duty.

During his visit to Nimapada, the Minister intercepted two teachers who were on their way to school at around 10.20 am. On being asked, the teachers could not give satisfactory answers for the reason for reaching school late.

Then the Minister made a visit to the school of the teachers and noticed that students were roaming, instead of sitting in the classrooms and the teachers were having gossips with each other at the office, while they were supposed to take classes.

The Minister has ordered the Puri DEO and Pipili BEO to stop of salary of the teachers and also issued a show-cause notice to the teachers.
