Sambalpur: Three persons have been arrested and 62 grams of brown sugar valued around Rs 4.20 lakh seized from their possession in Rengali area of Sambalpur district.
Acting on a tip-off, Rengali Police and special squad, Sambalpur conducted a raid on Sunday morning at New Rampella, Rengali (on SH-10).
During the raid, two drugs suppliers were apprehended near New Rampella, Rengali while they were proceeding to Jharsuguda in a Honda City Car to sell brown sugar to the drug addicted persons.
On thorough search, 62 grams of brown sugar (approximate value would be around 4 lakh and 20 thousand rupees), mobile phones and cash of Rs 5 lakhs were recovered from their possession, the police said.
The accused persons were arrested in connection with this case. Basing on their statement and analyzing the electronic surveillance, another peddler was also arrested from Bargarh district.
All three accused persons were forwarded to Court on Monday. The case is under investigation, police added.
