Bhubaneswar: Sambalpur is the hottest place in Odisha, recording the day temperature of above 40 degrees Celsius on Monday.
According to the Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar, Sambalpur recorded the day temperature of 40.8 degrees Celsius, which is the highest in the State.
At least seven places registered day temperature above 40 degrees Celcius on Monday, the Regional Meteorological Centre said.
Sambalpur saw the highest temperature followed by Boudh with 40.5 degrees, Balangir, Jharsuguda, and Hirakud with 40.4 degrees Celsius each.
Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded a temperature of 38.4 degrees and 37.4 degrees Celsius respectively.
