Sambalpur: Odisha Vigilance on Saturday apprehended Kuchinda Additional Tahasildar Sarada Maharana while she was demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.1,20,000 from a person to reduce the penalty towards release of his seized vehicle.
The entire bribe money has been recovered from Maharana and seized, the Vigilance said.
Following trap, cash Rs 3,03,610 has been recovered during searches at her locations at Kuchinda.
In this connection, a case has been registered against the Additional Tahasildar at Sambalpur Vigilance P.S.
Investigation is in progress against Maharana, the Vigilance stated.
