Bhubaneswar: With the number of Covid-19 infections in the state remaining under control and the test positivity rate coming down to less than 1 percent, the Odisha Government is likely to relax the night curfew guidelines in the state.
The government is also expected to withdraw the weekend shutdown imposed in the three cities of Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Puri as the number of Covid-19 infections in these cities has also remained under control and decreasing.
The apprehension of a third wave as in some states of the country may prompt the Government to not take any decision regarding opening of schools for class one to 8th in the state.
The government is also expected to allow more number of people to attend marriage and other functions in its September Guidelines.
In the last 24 hours, Odisha added 638 new cases of Covid-19, in which about 100 are under the age of 18 years. The total number of active cases remained 7255 in the state.
Keeping in view the increase in the number of cases in Kerala and other states, the Government of Odisha is expected to strictly implement the guidelines during festivities and may not allow public gatherings in religious ceremonies.
