Berhampur: The Berhampur Police has successfully detected two burglary cases and arrested seven persons in this connection today. The Police has also recovered a major part of the theft items including gold and silver jewelry and cash. The first case pertains to Somanath Nagar from where the burglars had committed the offence of breaking into the house of complainant Sulochana Patro and theft of gold ornaments of approximately 592 grams, silver ornaments of 200 grams and cash worth 11 lakhs. The second case pertains to Tulasi Nagar Seventh lane, where the burglars broke into the house of the complainant Satya Narayana Padhi and took away silver articles of approximately 500 grams and Rs 5000 in cash.
Based on criminal intelligence and investigation, the Berhampur Police withy valuable technical inputs, arrested the perpetrators Sk Sakir, Sk Noor, Sk Jakir and Sk Imran involved in the two burglary cases. Three other persons namely N Arun Kumar of Gandhi Nagar, K Narayan Achary and V Sairam were arrested for purchasing the stolen gold from the burglars. The investigation is still continuing and thye other stolen articles are yet to be recovered.
