Similipal National Park Reopens for Visitors from Today

Baripada: The Similipal National Park has been reopened for visitors from today after a gap of nearly five months. Nature enthusiasts can visit the National Park through two entrances, one at Kaliani and the other at Pithabata. They are allowed to enter the park between 6 am and 9 am and leave the premises from Barehipani and Jaranda by 3 pm and Chahala by 4 pm. According to the Park officials, at least 25-35 vehicles will be allowed inside the National Park on a daily basis. Tourists will be restricted from carrying plastic bags inside the park.

Entry tickets to the National Park are available at the booking counters at two gates. Entry fee per tourist has been fixed at Rs 100. The authorities have issued guidelines for the visitors.

According to the guidelines, cooking has been restricted in the national park area. But, visitors can take dry or cooked food with them in containers. No plastic bags are allowed. Visitors can also go for night stay inside the National Park as the authorities have made special arrangements at places like Jamuani, Kumari, Ramtirth, Gudugudia and Berehipani in the core area of the national park.
