Bhubaneswar: The situation in Sambalpur town is now under control and peaceful, said Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) Sunil Kumar Bansal on Saturday.
Briefing the media, the DGP said that strong action will be taken against those involved in the violence.
The top cop said, “Following yesterday’s (Friday) untoward incidents, we have mobilised additional forces to Sambalpur. Senior officer is campaigning there and now the situation is peaceful.”
Further action will be taken after analysing the situation and to ensure peace in the city. Action will be taken against those indulged in violence and create law and order problems, he said.
Meanwhile, the Home Department today extended the suspension on Internet Services in Sambalpur District by another 48 hours from 10 am today.
