Puri: The Sri Jagannath Temple Administration has started a drive to make the Temple premises and surrounding areas plastic and polythene free. As part of this, the Temple Administration has requested all the devotees and servitors of all Nijogas to avoid using plastic bags and polythene for the purpose of giving and taking Prasad and puja materials. The Suara and Mahasuara Nojigas have also been requested to make arrangements for carry bags and carry cases made of alternate materials such as paper, cotton, Bamboo and leaves that are biodegradable. The Temple Administration will undertake a massive awareness drive in the coming days to educate pilgrims regarding this.
