Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the Independence celebrations, the Skill Development and Technical Education Department launched an exhibition-cum-sale centre by the ITI students at the premises of Kharavela Bhawan here on Monday.
The exhibition was inaugurated in the presence of Asit Tripathy, Chairman of Western Odisha Development Council and Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary of Skill Development and Technical Education Department.
Attending the inaugural function, Tripathy said that the program is planned to be expanded across the State along with recognition and income generation opportunities for ITI trainees. The main objective of the program is to popularize the ‘Skilled in Odisha’ brand among the people and impart technical education, he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Padhee said that the Skilled in Odisha is a transformative journey that harnesses the talents of the youth in the state. Skilled-Odisha youths won gold at the World Skills Competition and are working with international talents in Singapore and Dubai.
Running from 7th to 11th August, the ITI students of Odisha will showcase their various talents and skills in this exhibition. The theme of the exhibition was “Wealth from Waste”.
The exhibition provides an opportunity to discover exquisite, handcrafted products, from decor to accessories, skillfully crafted by the ITI students.
