Bhubaneswar: The Southwest Monsoon is likely to arrive in Odisha during the next 48 hours, as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD) prediction.
The monsoon is likely to reach the State by June 17. There was a delay in the arrival of the monsoon.
Odisha has already witnessed the pre-monsoon rainfall. The various parts of the State have received rainfall.
Balasore received 54 mm, followed by Keonjhar (21.6mm), Daringibadi (20mm), Paralakhemundi (18.6mm), Angul (18 mm), Jajpur (14mm), Nayagarh (13.2mm), Nuapada (8mm).
A yellow warning has been issued for thunderstorms with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundergarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Malkangiri, Koraput, and Nabarangpur from 8.30 am of June 15 up to 8.30 am of June 16.
