Spotlight On Infrastructure Development: CS And 5T Secretary Review Chheligarh Irrigation Project

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra along with Additional Chief Secretary, Water Resources Department Anu Garg and 5T Secretary V K Pandian today reviewed the progress of the Chheligarh Irrigation Project in Gajapati district.

The visiting officials reviewed the various issues associated with the multipurpose project on the ground and stressed on early completion of the project. Once completed, the Chheligarh project will enable irrigation facilities for more than six thousand hectares of farm land in Ganjam and Gajapati districts and provide 32 megawatts of hydro power.

The project also entails the digging of a 1280 meter long tunnel to channel water. Gajapati Collector Lingaraj Panda and other officials were present during the review meeting.
