Bhubaneswar: The office of Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) on Tuesday issued an advisory to several districts in view of IMD’s prediction of heat wave condition.
The advisory has been issued to the districts of Angul, Balasore, Boudh, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sambalpur and Sundargarh.
In a message to the Collectors of these districts, the SRC said, “As per the special bulletin issued by IMD today (11.04.2023), heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj and Balasore from 8.30 hrs IST of 13,04,2023 to 8.30 hrs IST of l4.04.2023 and over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur and Sundargarh, Keonjhar & Mayurbhanj and Balasore from 8.30 hrs IST of 14.04.2023 to 8.30 hrs IST of 15.04.2023 and over the districts of Deogarh, Angul, Boudh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur & Sundargarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj from 8.30 hrs IST of 15.04.2023 to 8.30 hrs IST of 16.04.2023”.
IMD has issued yellow warning in respect of the districts, the SRC stated.
Advisory:
• Steps be taken to circulate the warning message among the public
• Heat is tolerable for general public but slight health concern for vulnerable people (viz: infant, elderly and sick people).
• Public may be advised to take precautionary measures for hot weather while going outside during noon time (around 11.00 IST-15.30 IST in these areas).
• Situation may be closely monitored and action as deemed necessary be taken.
