Bhubaneswar: With heavy rains continuing to lash various districts of Odisha for the last two days, Special Relief Commissioner Satyabrata Sahu today reviewed the situation. He discussed the situation with the Collectors of the seventeen affected districts and instructed them to provide all necessary help to the people. He has also asked them to deploy special teams to clear roads if necessary in the rain affected areas.
Due to the prevailing Deep Depression over North-East Bay of Bengal, the IMD has issued red warning to ten districts Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Balangir, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Deogarh. Angul, Keonjhar and Boudh will get heavy rains. The IMD has warned that the districts are likely to receive 7 to 20 cms of rain. There is a possibility of water logging and flooding of low laying areas in these districts.
