Bhubaneswar: Sri Lankan Airlines, the flag carrier of Sri Lanka, is planning to start flight service between Bhubaneswar and Colombo.
Regional manager of Sri Lankan Airlines for India, Bangladesh and Nepal, V Ravindran, said that Sri Lanka was recovering from economic crisis and the Sri Lankan Airlines was looking forward to add more destinations especially in India.
Sri Lankan Airlines was operating flight services in 11 destinations in India before the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, it is operating flights to nine destinations, such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Cochin, Trivandrum, Chennai, Madurai and Trichy. It wants to recommence its service to Kolkata and Coimbatore, Ravindran said.
He further said that Ahmedabad, Calicut and Goa are also in their plans.
The flag carrier is also looking at Odisha and other lucrative markets, he added.
