Startup Odisha Yatra 2.0 to Reach VSSUT for Innovative Ideas 

Bhubaneswar: Startup Odisha Yatra 2.0, a flagship initiative of Startup Odisha, will reach Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), Burla tomorrow to generate innovative ideas and provide entrepreneurial exposure to the young minds.

Launched by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in August this year, Startup Odisha Yatra 2.0 has reached out to more than 9000 students and garnered over 1500 ideas.

Startup Odisha Yatra 2.0 has received a phenomenal response from the youth and institutions across the State. It reach Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), Burla on November 10 where a boot camp will be organized, informed Executive Chairman of Startup Odisha Dr Omkar Rai.

Rai along with other officials will embark on a one-day visit to experience the energy at the ground level and share valuable insights about the effervescent startup ecosystem, motivate the student community at VSSUT, to create an environment for Make in Odisha Conclave 22 and promote the initiatives of Startup Odisha.

More than 100 Van Campaigns have been carried out and the Bootcamps are in full swing to fetch innovative ideas from student entrepreneurs and grassroots innovators.

The Yatra has also experienced women trailblazing innovations in every sector. At least 40- 50 per cent of the ideas collected till now have been women-led.

Taking the Yatra to the grassroots level, young boys and girls from the remotest places of Odisha like Kandhamal, Koraput, Nayagarh, Kalahandi, Jeypore have pitched their ideas and it’s evident to see how the remote corners of Odisha are bustling with activity and can be the ideal starting point for a myriad of different startups.

Odisha has a mission of 5000 Startups by 2025 and Startup Odisha Yatra 2.0 will be pivotal in bringing innovative ideas to the forefront.

The State has currently more than 1300 recognized Startups generating 10,000 employments in the State. 40 percent of the Startups are led by Women Entrepreneurs, as per official data.
