State To Receive Heavy Rains In Next Three Days; Low Pressure Likely Tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department has said that due to likely formation of Low Pressure area in the Bay of Bengal, some districts of Odisha may receive heavy rainfall. According to the IMD Bulletin, a cyclonic circulation lies over northeast and adjoining east-central Bay of Bengal between 4.5 and 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwards with height. Under its influence a low-pressure area is likely to form over north Bay of Bengal around 18th August 2023. It has also issued Orange warning for five districts till tomorrow morning. Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) is very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Puri, Khordha, Cuttack, Angul, and Sambalpur. It has also issued Orange warning for Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Nuapada, Nawarangpur, Malkangiri and Koraput till 8. 30 am of 19th August for heavy rains.
